Margaret L. Sheffield
OGDEN a" Margaret Lena Jensen Fromm McEwan Sheffield, 90, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Jordan Valley Hospital in Salt Lake City of natural causes.
She was born November 20, 1918 in Brigham City, a daughter of Orion Peter and Jessie Brown Jensen. She was educated in the Brigham City Schools, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1935, and later from Weber College and the Thomas D. Dee School of Nursing.
Margaret married Harry S. Fromm. They had one daughter, Kathleen. They later divorced. She married Max H. McEwan on December 12, 1945. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. They had two daughters, Vicki Lynn and Marilyn Maxine. Vickie passed away in 1974 as did her husband Max. She married Boyd M. Sheffield on April 19, 1986 in the Ogden LDS Temple.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North Ogden 2nd Ward. She served as a Relief Society President, Primary Counselor, Sunday School teacher and MIA chorister. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple from 1985 to 1995.
Margaret worked for Dr. L.S. Merrill and later as an administrative assistant at Defense Depot Ogden receiving outstanding awards. She retired from DDO in 1983 after 30 years of service.
Margaret loved to keep journals of her travels and put together scrapbooks and photo albums of her precious family.
Surviving are her husband, Boyd; two daughters, Kathleen M. (Bill) Freeman, Citrus Heights, CA; Marilyn Nunez, Taylorsville, UT; five stepchildren, 27 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Schmalz and one brother, Byron Jensen.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9:45 to 10:45 am.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
