NORTH OGDEN a€" Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret Irene Simmons was called home by the Eternal Father on Thursday, October 22, 2009.

She was born Margaret Irene Roome on July 23, 1928 in Denver, Colorado, to Ed Roome and Mary Frances Beidler Roome. Margaret grew up in Denver during the depression, helping to raise her eight siblings. She worked summers at Elitch''s Gardens Amusement Park near her home. She was a wonderful singer and actor, later appearing in plays at California''s South Coast Reparatory.

Margaret married Richard Knight Simmons on August 20, 1949. She was a homemaker raising three children. She worked with underprivileged children for several years in Santa Ana, California.

She was an active and dedicated member of The First Church of Christ Scientist, Ogden.

We love her and will miss her.

The family expresses thanks to all the loving caregivers at Ogden Clinic Mountain View, Utah Cardiology, and Cardiac Rehab at Ogden Regional Medical Center.

Surviving are her children, Michael and Candace of North Ogden; daughter-in-law, Debbie, son-in-law, Joseph; grandchildren, Steve and Sarah, Scott and Adrienne, Janice and Harrison; and her great-grandchildren, Lauren, Steven, Ana, Vanessa, Alex, Scotty, Evalyn and Alessia.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and son, Steve.

As per Peggy''s wishes there will be no services. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist''s Crematory.
