Margaret Hovey Zollinger

Margaret Hovey Zollinger passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2009. She was born June 7, 1916, to Sidney and Leuinna Hansen Hovey in Providence, Utah. Margaret married Dallas Zollinger on Nov. 10, 1937, in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised two daughters.

She attended schools in Cache County. She began her teaching career in Auburn, Washington in 1955 with a provisional certificate and graduated from USU in 1967 majoring in elementary education. She retired in 1976 after teaching in Auburn for 22 years. Throughout her life, she championed the cause of those in need. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a devoted servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ. She sustained her husband in his callings as well as serving as a teacher in all the auxillaries, as a Relief Society president and as a stake Mutual president. Margaret and Dallas served as stake missionaries and were also called to serve in the Alabama Birmingham Mission laboring in Fayetteville, Tenn in 1978. She served as a temple worker in the Seattle LDS Temple and in the Ogden LDS Temple. Her hobbies included cooking, reading, and bringing joy to her family, friends and students. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved providing them with treats, entertaining activities and fun gifts. Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Patsy (Nile) Griffin, of Ogden, Annette (Leavitt) Grover, of Kennewick, Wash. She has nine grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving is her sister, Helen Fleming of Salt Lake City. Preceding her in death were her husband Dallas, her sons, Richard Dallas, Dallas, Lawrence Dallas and her sister Esther Yeaman.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 10th Ward chapel, 125 E. 5350 South, with Bishop Rick Wade officiating.

Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the ward chapel.

Interment, Providence, Utah, Cemetery. We appreciate the kindness and care given to her by all who helped during her illness especially Intermountain Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the L.D. S. Perpetual Education Fund.
