Margith Jean Lewis Satterlee

Margith Jean Lewis Satterlee passed away peacefully June 21 2014 after a full and rich life. She was born in Logan Utah to Lex and Uvada Lewis May 31, 1924, the oldest of four siblings.  Margith worked as a secretary for Defense Depot Ogden where she met her eternal sweetheart, Arnold Satterlee.  They were married July 31, 1946, and later solemnized their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, for a wonderful 64 years.  She was a faithful member of the LDS church and served as a Stake Dance Director, Relief Society Counselor, Den Mother and Visiting Teacher. Margith was a PTA President at Sunset Elementary, and helped organize the Sunset City Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Margith and Arnold were members of the Utah Square Dance Association, and presidents of the Double J Rustlers and Hoop-N-Holler Dance Clubs.

Margith’s hobbies included Sewing, Crocheting, Braiding Rugs and the Utah Jazz. Her love for her family was her main priority in life and they loved her deeply.

She is survived by her daughters; Carol (Jun) Horiuchi, Jill (Duane) Singleton, and Sandy Wood, her Grand Children: Chris (Tamara) Singleton, Brett (Casandra) Singleton, Brian (Kailynn) Singleton, Ryan (Ritta) Satterlee, Haley Horiuchi and Seven Great Grand Children. Her siblings are Shirley (Bob) Olesen, Tom (Lujean) Lewis, and Bob (Laura) Lewis. Margith is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Satterlee, her son Scott Satterlee, her parents Lex and Uvada Lewis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 at the LDS 3 rd Ward Chapel, 338 W. 1800 N. Sunset.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
