– Margot Bernert passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 30, 1934 in Karlsruhe Germany to Richard and Anna B. Brown Stark.
On January 30, 1959, Margot said “I do” to Carl Bernert in Ludwigsburg Germany after he had spent the better half of two years pursuing his life long partner. They later moved to the United States where they continued to raise eight children.
Often times over the past few years Margot and Carl could be found taking long drives through the mountains with each other, spending time at their daughter’s store, or going out to eat in the company of several family members and friends. She loved getting dressed up in her finest attire and spend a day out shopping. She was never without a peace of “antique” jewelry, and treasured her many dogs, “Rusty”.
Margot is survived by her husband, Carl Bernert, sons, Robert (Dawn) Bernert, Michael (Holly) Rabanne, Jason (Sylvia) Bernert, daughters, Jacklin Biedermann, Marion (Ellery) Kapp, Susan (Jay) Marquardt, Anita (Lyle) McComb, and Cornelia (Mark) Scoffield; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many close friends.
A small gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 4th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Margot would like to say “Thank you” to all of her family and friends who have truly been a treasure in her life. Thank you for making it a great one!
