Maria Adela Trujillo Duran "Together Again" 1918-2008

OGDEN a€" Maria Adela Trujillo Duran, 89, loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma, returned home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from complications of pneumonia.

She was born November 21, 1918 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Frank and Genovive Trujillo. She was the last surviving of her five siblings.

Maria met the love of her life and her eternal partner, Patrick "Pat" Duran. They were married on May 17, 1937 in Del Norte, Colorado. They later moved to Ogden where they continued to raise their family. Together they had seven beautiful children: four sons, Gilbert, Henry, Celestino and Johnny, and three daughters, Ida Francis, Eleanor and Ruth. They were married for 61 wonderful years until Dad was called home on August 2, 1998 to our Heavenly Father.

Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, baking, listening to music and playing the keyboard, which she learned to play by ear. She loved to take care of her roses and looked forward to Sunday visits with her two eldest grandsons, Anthony and Gary Duran. She also had a very special relationship with her great-grandson, Christian Gutierrez. She always sent him a card with a surprise inside, regardless of the holiday.

Maria is survived by five children, Gilbert (Stephie) Duran and Henry Duran, both of Ogden; Eleanor Reyes, Clinton; Ruth (Juan) Gutierrez, Ogden; Johnny (Tessie) Duran, Layton; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Duran, two children, Celestino and Ida Francis, her parents, Frank and Genovive Trujillo, three brothers and one sister.

The family expresses their thanks to the staff at McKay-Dee Hospital IMC floor: Dr. Trask, Lisa, and Brenda for their compassionate care of our Mother. We will always be grateful for all that you did for our family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m., and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
