Maria E. Lara OGDEN- Maria Esther Lara, 59, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 surrounded by her family, at a local care center. She was born October 22, 1948 in cd Obregon, Sonora Mexico, a daughter of Manuel and Rosario Quintero Figueroa. She lived in Mexico for 42 years and in Ogden for 18 years. In 1966, Maria married Luis Lara in cd Obregon Sonora Mexico. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Maria enjoyed going to Wendover, playing bingo, washing clothes, listening to music, yard sales, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband Luis, three sons and four daughters, Joseluis Franco, Juan Lara, Luis Manuel Lara, Maria Esther Mata, Alma Avila, and Elizabeth Salguero, all of Ogden; Maria Isabel Mendoza, Hollister, CA; and 17 grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and one sister, Eduardo Quintero, Eliazar Quintero, Manuel Quintero, Carlos Quintero and Lucila Quintero. Preceding Maria in death were her parents and one brother, Alfredo Quintero. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 – 24th Street.
