OGDEN a€" Maria De La Luz Ovalle, 54, passed away peacefully at her home in Ogden on Wednesday, November 5, 2008.

She was born June 2, 1954 in Sinaloa, Mexico, a daughter of Pedro and Guadalupe Patron Ovalle.

Although Maria was born in Mexico, she moved to California with her family to provide a better future for her children. They lived in California for 12 years and in Utah for eight years.

Maria was a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church and served in various activities.

She loved to help people, cook, and spend time with her family.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Jesus Sanchez, Santiago Sanchez and Luz Olivas, all of Ogden; and four grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers and five sisters, Pedro Ovalle, Rigoberto Ovalle, Miguel Ovalle, Santiago Ovalle, Pilar Vazquez, Martha Bennett, Yolanda Ovalle, Cristina Sanchez and Sylvia Ovalle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 8 at 4 p.m. at Washington Heights Baptist Church, 1770 East 6200 South.
