Mariam Cecille Schwede

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Mariam Cecille St. Armant Schwede, 76, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at her home after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born January 19, 1933 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Edmond Joseph and Bessie Ingram St. Armant. She was raised and educated in Biloxi.

On May 24, 1952, Mariam married Otto Henry "Hank" Schwede in Biloxi. They were devoted to each other and deeply in love for 57 years. Hank will miss his beautiful wife and continue to love her forever.

She loved her husband and her family very much. Through her battle with cancer she never thought of herself and never complained no matter how much pain she was in. She always worried about her husband''s well being and wanted to make sure her children were OK. She was an angel on earth and her faith in God was very strong. She was a member of the Lutheran Church

Mariam liked to read, sing, fish, camp and sew. She also enjoyed pitching softball. Her greatest joy in life was her family who she loved and cherished to the end.

Mariam is survived by her husband, Hank; a son, Otto H. "Audie" Schwede, III; four daughters, Jerrie C. (Larry) Wilson, Lanora A. "Nora" Schwede, Patricia J. "Patty" Lonnquist, Jeannie B. (Terry) Tidwell; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donnie Fimiano and three sisters, Maisie Reece, and Mary Helen Hasli.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Deanna L. "Dee Dee" Schwede, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Chapel, 3333 West 5600 South.

Family and friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
