Marian Grant
BOUNTIFUL – Marian Grant, 87, passed away June 3, 2008 in Bountiful, Utah.
She was an elegant lady and will be greatly missed and she is grateful to be reunited with her wonderful husband.
She was born January 15, 1921 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of James Henry and Irene Carolyn Walker Leishman. Married John Barton Grant February 13, 1942 in Los Angeles, California. Later solemnized in the St. George Temple.
Marian’s family moved to California where she graduated from Los Angeles High School. She worked in school administration for the Lawndale California School District. She enjoyed home decorating and worked for Ethan Allen Interior Decorators. She was the ultimate home entertainer. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in the Primary and Young Women’s, she was a great visiting teacher.
She is survived by her two daughters Jill (Joe) Dibert, Sacramento, CA; Julianne Grant, Bountiful; mother Irene Leishman, Bountiful; in-laws Liz Wissler, Kaysville; Katie Grant, Solvang, CA; Carol Jean Grant, Orem; A. J. Berry, Bountiful; and a cousin Dorothy Varney, St. George. Preceded in death by her father and husband.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the employees of Avalon Care Center in Bountiful for their constant and loving care to make Marian’s last days more comfortable.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful.
