MARIAN W. HURST
Marian Williams Hurst, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital after a short illness.
Marian was born in Slaterville, Utah on April 17, 1925 to Jesse Myron Williams and Alice LaVera Smout Williams. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Marian was raised in Farr West and graduated from Weber High School in 1943. She was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing the piano and accordion.
Marian lived most of her life in the Ogden area except for a brief period in Los Angeles, California. She worked for various businesses and government agencies including Utah Power and Light, the Weber County School District, and Anderson Lumber Company from which she retired after more than 40 years of service.
Marian enjoyed traveling; she visited Europe, the Caribbean, and several of the US states. She also enjoyed watching sporting events such as golf, basketball, baseball, and football.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her two sisters, Faye Harris and Jean Dabling, nieces and nephews Pat Iannone, Dixie Finch, Roberta Smith, Debi Baxter, Robert C. Dabling, and Rick Harris, and two very special friends, Margaret Fuller and Mike Hurst.
Honoring her wishes, a private family service will take place on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with entombment to follow at Good Shepherd Abby Mausoleum at Lindquist‘s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
The family wishes to thank the Emergency Room staff and Fifth Floor doctors and nurses at McKay-Dee Hospital and IHC Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during Marian’s illness.
