Marian Wanner

Marian Irene Wanner passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 in Layton, Utah. She was born October 20, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vivan Theodore and Ethel Irene Smart Simmons. She married Jon Rulon Wanner on December 3, 1960 in Elko, Nevada and the marriage was later solemnized in the LDS temple on July 17, 1976.

Marian enjoyed genealogy, baking, and spending time with her beautiful grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a member of the Layton J.C.’s (Jr. Chamber of Commerce), and an active member of the LDS church where she had several callings throughout her life.

She is survived by her children Bryan (Cindy) Wanner, Louisiana, Dale (Rajena) Wanner, Clearfield, Barry Wanner, Layton, Eric (Natalie) Wanner, Syracuse, and daughter Donna (Joseph) Barnes, So. Weber, as well as 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Elmer (Joanne) Simmons, Kaysville, and sisters Carolyn Martin, Las Vegas, Nevada, Eileen (Jay) Taylor, Peterson, Debra (Gordon) Larsen, West Point, and sister-in-law Lafay Simmons.

Marian is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Don.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton.
