Marianne McKay

Marianne McKay, age 83, passed away February 13, 2025, in Roy, Utah. She was born February 3, 1942, to Angus Vincen and Dora Mayhew McKay in Ogden, Utah. Marianne grew up in Ogden attending public schools. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1960.

She married Bob Lightfoot, and they were later divorced. She moved to Moline, Illinois, where she worked for a television station before relocating to Los Angeles, California. She worked as a secretary for The Cook Insurance Agency and later moved to Bonsall, California, with David Cook, where they retired together. They were married and later divorced. Marianne then spent 25 years with her companion, Larry Glotfelty living in Vista, California, before moving to Fallbrook to manage a Tree Farm. After Larry’s passing in 2012, Marianne returned to Roy, Utah, to be closer to her family.

Marianne is survived by her brother, Richard V. (Becky) McKay; nieces, Debra Palmer (Jeff) West, Melanie Palmer (Karl) McAllister, Tonya McKay (Jared) Sahleen; and nephews, Mark (Susan) Palmer, Shaun McKay, Joshua (Caz) McKay. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen (George) Palmer; brother, David M. McKay; and niece, Pamela Palmer (Charles) Randall.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunridge Assisted Living for their compassionate care of Marianne. Special thanks also go to the Atlas Hospice team, particularly her two nurses, Sydney and Shannon, for their kindness, support, and guidance during her final days. You are all truly angels on earth.

In accordance with Marianne’s wishes, she was cremated, and no services will be held.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
