Marie B. Groskreutz

Marie B. Groskreutz, our beautiful and elegant mother passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on August 10, 2013. She was born June 15, 1920 to Frank and Ella Smith. She grew up in Kensal, North Dakota. After graduating from Kensal High School, she married Herbert A. Groskreutz, June 11, 1938. Together they had four children, Cynthia (Whitey) Yates, Sharon (Boyd) Fronk, Biff (Janet) Hunt and Curt (Janet) Porter.

Special thanks go Curt''s Janet for her loving care of mother and also thanks to Sandy Stott and Alyona Price for loving her and helping her to go in peace and dignity.

She had 14 grandchildren, numerous great, and great-great-grandchildren.

She retired from government service after 29 years of service.

Her parents, her husband, two sisters, one brother, one grandchild and her son Biff preceded her in death.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping, "she shopped till she dropped", had a love affair with shoes, and was always dressed like a million bucks. She never missed sending cards for birthdays to all of her children, grandchildren and friends. No one wanted to open presents from her because they were wrapped so beautifully. She liked to crochet and read and figure out the crossword puzzles. She was a wonderful cook and kept an immaculate home. We know she is having a joyous reunion with her family and friends. We will all miss her and remember her always. Rest in peace Mother.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 12 noon at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
