SYRACUSE - Marie Brough Nielson, 78, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 of natural causes surrounded by her family.

She was born March 4, 1930 in Bountiful, Utah the daughter of Chester Richard and Lula Robison Brough.

Marie married Dennis E. Nielson on December 1, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

She was an accomplished pianist, organist, genealogist, and enjoyed the arts, outdoors, but most all she enjoyed being with her family.

Surviving are her husband Dennis Nielson, daughters, Theresa Childs, Joyce Graham, Judy Simmons, Margaret Broadhead, Jeanene Thain, sons, Richard, Mark, Merrill, Reed, Lynn, 50 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Syracuse 4th Ward, 1625 So. 1100 W. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
