Marie P. Willis Rigby

Marie P. Willis Rigby, daughter of Cecil Anderson Pfost and Norma Leonore Hastings, passed away on August 11, 2013. She was born on March 6, 1935 in Boise, Idaho.

Marie graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1953. She moved the summer after graduation to attend Weber State College, School of Nursing in Ogden, Utah, graduating in 1955. Marie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She married Edward Willis on May 20, 1956. Together they had four daughters. They were later divorced. In 1988, she married the love of her life, Don A. Rigby. He had one son and four daughters. Marie and Don were later sealed in the Mesa AZ LDS Temple. They lived in Scottsdale, AZ, Oceanside, CA, returning in 2003 to live in South Ogden.

Marie was awarded the first certificate of proficiency from the School of Nursing. Proficiency became the model for her life. She loved working as a nurse for over 30 years. Though dedicated to her career, she always put her family first. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and reading.

Marie is survived by three daughters, Karen Willis, Houston, TX; Vicki (Doug) Friedli, Hooper; Becky (Troy) Weeks, Mt. Green; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie Winkle Johnson, Buhl, ID; Deanna Baxter, Twin Falls, ID; and one brother, Emmitt Pfost, Salinas, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don, parents, and daughter, Nancy Leigh.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Gary Holland, the staff at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and the caregivers with Hospice for Utah.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
