Marie Schiedle

Marie Schiedle SALEM, Ore. – Marie Schiedle, 89, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 in Salem, Oregon. She was born December 18, 1918 in North Platte, Nebraska, a daughter of Frank and Mary Magdelina Mang Schiedle. Marie lived in North Platte, Nebraska; Fresno, California; Salem, Oregon; and in Ogden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Marie worked as a secretary/clerk for the Internal Revenue Service in 1977, and later at Utah Depot and Hill Air Force Base. Marie loved to go on rides through the country, shop for all her many nieces and nephews, and visiting with friends and family. Surviving are her niece, Beverly Downs; grandniece, Cindy Hannum; great-grandnephews, Jamie Hannum, Jason Davis, Jeremy Davis, Cecil Shern; great-grandnieces, Jennifer Thomas, Kimberly Hales, Nicole Holker, Wendy Aerikas, Stephanie Robbins, Heidi Davis, Melody Wheelwright, Ashley Davis; and 21 great-great-grandnieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Schiedle; two brothers, Archie Discoe and Ora Lee “Barney” Discoe; three sisters, Mary Preitauer, Nellie Discoe and Daisy Peterson; nephews, Dan Downs and Alvin Davis; and one grandnephew, Reggie A. Davis. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be surely missed. Graveside services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
