Marietta Dawson Nelson

Marietta H. Nelson, 69, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

She was born June 25, 1938 in Ogden, Utah to George and Etta Morris Dawson.

On September 25, 1958, Marietta married Leo Ralph Nelson in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed teaching the young boys in Scouting.

She enjoyed growing flowers, raising exotic birds, but her biggest hobby was fishing, which she enjoyed with her husband to the very end.

Marietta is survived by her husband, Leo; a son, Rick (Margie) Nelson, Ogden; a daughter, Deborah (Chuck) Froehlich, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; her mother, Etta Dawson, Ogden; two brothers, George (Shauna) Dawson, Earl Dawson; and two sisters, Florence (Darold) Rawson, and Karen (Gibbs) Bullen.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Dawson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12th at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
