Our dearest Marilyn passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the age of 67.

She was born February 23, 1948 to Kent W. and Mary Simpson Barber, raised and educated in Layton, Utah graduating from Davis High School.

Marilyn started working for Inland Printing at the age of 17. She also worked for MorMedia/Hilltop Times, and the Standard Examiner, retiring in 2010 after 45 years in the newspaper printing business.

Marilyn was an avid sports fan; she played softball as a young girl. She enjoyed fishing, camping and outdoor activities. She kept a great vegetable garden. Marilyn also had a tender hobby, doting on her nieces and nephews.

Marilyn is survived by her best friend and partner, Kaye Jensen, Roy; three brothers, David, Reed (Alison), Carl (Tina); sisters, Nyla (Jim) Wright and Eileen Barber; 23 nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Also surviving are countless devoted friends, who have stood graciously by her side and have shared her enthusiasm for life. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Morris Barber.

We are so very grateful for Dr. Greg Almony and his staff, as well as Ogden Regional Medical Center. We'd also like to thank Mt. Ogden Rehab Facility and Brighton Hospice for their exceptional, tender care.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary.
