Marilyn Ilene Kendall Jabbs

August 26, 1939 ~ October 14, 2016

Marilyn Ilene Kendall Jabbs passed away peacefully, early Friday morning, October 14, 2016.  She was born to Vernal Georgeson Kendall & Elfonda Mary Watts Kendall on August 26, 1939, the fourth of five children, Ennis J., Verna Jean, Garth Albert, and Margaret Elaine.

Marilyn was raised in Ogden, graduated from Ogden High School, and received her Associates of Science degree from Weber State College.  She met Theodore (Ted) Jabbs and they were married on November 16, 1961, in the Logan UT LDS Temple.  They made their home in Plain City, UT, where they raised three daughters. She was also blessed with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Marilyn was active in the community and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, frequently serving others and held various callings in their ward.  She had been employed as a seamstress, a cook, and most recently the IRS, where she retired from.  Family time was Marilyn's favorite; she believed time was well spent together as a family, playing cards or any other game.  She enjoyed painting, crocheting, crafts of all kinds, but she especially enjoyed quilting with her friends at the Senior Center.

At the time of her death Marilyn was living at Seasons Assisted Living, where she made many dear friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and residents at Seasons for their kindness in making our mother's last year wonderful. The family is also grateful to all the friends and neighbors who have helped and continue to support our family during these trying times. Your service can not be measured in words, but our hearts are forever grateful to you for your loving kindness.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ted - this November would have been 55 years together; daughters, Taya Jo (Paul) McGeorge, Brenda Sue (Ted) Jabbs, and Cinthea Sparkman; grandchildren, Jeffrey Scott (Cheri) Judkins, Logan Wolf Sparkman, and Paige Elizabeth Sparkman; and great-grandchildren, Rylie Lynn Judkins and Carson Matthew Judkins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, and her grandson, Matthew Richard Judkins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
