Marilyn Gunn Jacob

Marilyn Gunn Jacob, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014.  She had fought Lupus since her 20s.  If she hadn’t exercised by running the equivalent of circumventing the world, her doctors believed she would have passed on much sooner.  She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 24, 1927, the daughter of Clifford Jackson and Loraine White Gunn. 

She married Robert Murdock Jacob on April 25, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. 

Marilyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She proudly taught Sunbeams for 32 years.  She loved learning about the gospel and took many C.E.S. classes. 

She knew the importance of family even the extended family.  She looked forward to going to Cousin’s Club and other family gatherings. She loved roses and had a beautiful rose garden.  Marilyn had many friends and enjoyed participating in a sewing club with some of them.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Doug (Cherrie) Jacob, West Haven; and Steve (Renee) Jacob, Ogden; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and siblings, Jack Gunn and Vauna Burnham.  She was preceded in death by her husband.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Malan’s Peak Ward, 1643 26^th St.  Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
