Marilyn Mauchley

January 16, 1935 — May 8, 2018

Marilyn Johnson Mauchley was born January 16, 1935 to Floyd H. and Virginia Leishman Johnson in Beaver Dam, Box Elder County, Utah.  She married Kenneth V. Mauchley on September 14, 1951, in the Logan LDS Temple. They have gratefully shared sixty-seven wonderful years being blessed with three children, Kevin (Judy), Tamra Pluim, and Corwyn (Tyra).

Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband, children, twelve grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, Deon (Helen) Johnson, Cordell (Joyce) Johnson, sister-in-law Sherry Johnson and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Beverly (Nick) Burris and Donna (Vern) Otte, four brothers; Joseph, Floyd, Darwin, Allen (Jolyn) Johnson and granddaughter Ashley Pluim Ford.

Marilyn’s life was blessed with many treasured family members and friends.  She and Ken lived in Kaysville for most of their married lives. Marilyn served in several LDS church auxiliaries, with over twenty years in the Primary.  She loved her six years as a missionary at the LDS Church Museum of History and Art as a Docent interacting with visitors from around the world.  Ken and Marilyn spent six years extracting names from Spanish records in the Spanish Extraction Program. In addition she was employed by Juliets, Internal Revenue Service, and Hill Air Force Base.  She also enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Traveling with her husband, Ken, visiting US states and other countries was a favorite past time.  She loved camping in the mountains by a stream; if her family was there it was a heaven on earth.  Marilyn is an amazingly talented woman and homemaker. Her talents included, but were not limited to oil painting, sculpting, music, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and was honored for her patriotic slide show presentations. She had a talent for backyard fun!  Marilyn used her writing skills to accomplish several family histories, scrapbooks, and even her own novel.  Genealogy was a passion, she loved getting to know her ancestors. Marilyn brought light and love to all who knew her.

The family would like to extend appreciation to the Legacy Healthcare staff for the end-of-life hospice care they provided for our mother.
