Marilyn Alberta Teresa Miller
2/14/1936—1/16/2016
Bountiful, Utah
Marilyn was born in East Paterson, New Jersey, one of seven children of John and Josephine Leskowski Miller. She spent most of her earlier years in NJ doing for others as her means permitted and was simply a very caring, humble, gentle woman. She missed her East Coast relations and often spoke affectionately of them, remembering their outings and “escapades.”
The second half of Marilyn’s life was spent here in Utah to be nearby her sister Betty and her husband Charlie/Kalev. They became her advisors and caretakers. She loved animals all her life (even had a monkey at one time) and became a “green thumb” gardener, excelling in flowers and tomatoes. She continued her love of cooking, did crafts and enjoyed going to yard/garage sales until her health deteriorated.
Later years took a toll on Marilyn’s health. She eventually moved from her private apartment to a care center. On December 30, 2015, Marilyn fell in her bathroom, received (mostly) facial/head injuries and spent the next ten days in the ICU where several critical health problems were diagnosed. She was returned to her care center room where she declined daily and couldn’t overcome her immobility and pain. The Lord mercifully reclaimed her soul at 12:15 AM on January16, 2016.
Marilyn didn’t want a viewing or service but wished to be cremated and be “scattered to the winds” that she may end up somewhere “pushing up daisies” and growing beautiful flowers and tomatoes.
Marilyn leaves behind many relatives, mostly on the East Coast. Besides Betty (and Charlie) she is survived by two brothers—the eldest is Leonard (wife Emily) and the youngest, Albert (wife Ruth). Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
