Marilyn Lucille Norman

88-year-old resident of Layton, Utah, Marilyn Lucille Norman passed away Wednesday morning March 24, 2021 at Ogden Regional Medical Center, in Ogden, Utah.

Marilyn Norman, known as “Peggy,” to her family and closest friends, was born in Vincennes, Indiana October 7, 1932. The daughter of Alice LeMaster and Harold Cooper, she graduated

from Mt. Carmel, High School in 1950. Marilyn married R. Ellis Norman September 25, 1957 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1968, and were long-time Nevada

residents. Marilyn worked as a Guest Room attendant, at the Flamingo and Royal Inn Hotels, retiring from the Culinary Union in 1984. After retirement she continued to work for 13 years as a cashier for 7-11. Marilyn and Ellis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2007, surrounded by family. After Ellis passed in 2010, Marilyn moved to Utah in 2013. Marilyn was an avid reader, she loved gospel music and loved collecting Frankoma Pottery. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Layton, Utah.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father and mother, both her sisters, Nina Louise Cooper Williams, and Betty Jean Cooper Keener, and her husband, R. Ellis Norman. She is survived by her three daughters, Teresa Ann Norman Trumper, (Don) of Las Vegas, Nevada. Janice Elaine Norman Bane, (Ed) and Mari Alice Norman Gillies, (Alan) both of Layton, Utah. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, Donald A. Trumper, III, Gerald E. Trumper, Nicholas E. Trumper, Joshua C. Trumper, Alyssa M. Trumper Perry, Noah A. Bane, Esther R. Bane Limb, Jonah I. Bane, Josie M. Bane, Abraham S. Bane, Timothy A. Gillies. She is also survived by 8 Great Grandchildren, Donald A. Trumper, IV, Abigail R. Trumper, Sydney J. Trumper, Brianne Trumper, Addison Trumper, Greyson S. Perry, Clara A. Limb, McKenna M. Perry, and had 1 great-great grandchild on the way.

Gravesides services will be held May 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at The Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
