Marilyn Louise Hofer Snyder
Our earthly angel, loving wife and mother, Marilyn Louise Hofer Snyder, 76, passed away in Bountiful, UT on November 18, 2008. She was born September 4, 1932 in Salt Lake City, UT to Henry Frederick and Louise Wilhelmine Baum Hofer.
Marilyn attended Jordan High School and LDS Business College. She married James H. Snyder September 30, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple.
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, some of her favorite callings were teaching Primary and Sunday School. She served in the Bountiful Temple and as a missionary with her husband at the Salt Lake Humanitarian Center. She always served and gave unconditionally to her children, family and others. She loved gardening and never met a weed she liked! Marilyn is survived by six children: Stephen (Carol) Snyder, Mark (Suzann) Snyder, Mike (Sandy) Snyder, Scott (Bonnie) Snyder, Wendy Stirling and Cindy Lewis; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Charles H. Hofer; sister Elizabeth Hofer Tucker; step-brother Fred Kerkman, Jr. and a step-sister Elaine Bingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother David B. Hofer.
The family wishes to thank the Lakeview Hospital ICU staff, especially Chris and Jared.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22 at 11 am at the Mueller Park 8th Ward, 1320 E. 1975 S, Bountiful, UT. Friends and family may call Friday November 21 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and at the Church Saturday 9:45-10:45 am prior to services. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Park in Bountiful.
