Marion June Smith Beeton Knudson

June 21, 1927 –June 14, 2015

Mom, You’ve “hoed” to the last row!

Marion June Smith Beeton Knudson, 87, passed away Sunday June 14, 2015 after leading an ordinary, yet “extraordinary” life. (Ordinary would be her definition)

She was born June 21, 1927 in Randolph, Utah to Fredrick William and Phebe Norris Smith. She graduated from Rich High School and attended USU for one year. She had many friends, always participated in school activities, and was a Cheerleader in high school.

On January 1, 1949 June married Neil William Beeton in Randolph, Utah. They were sealed in the Logan Temple in November 1954. She was a wonderful, supportive wife and known as his “crew chief” in the tomato field. He preceded her in death August 31, 1992. She married Elden Hans Knudson and he preceded her in death July 25, 1999. They enjoyed their life together working on yard projects, dancing, playing golf and traveling. How we love the Knudson Family!

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she had a very strong testimony which she lived every day. She love serving in many callings especially being a Visiting Teacher. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

June served on the Utah Consumer Commission for Disabilities and was a pioneer for Cochlear Implants.

She was a member of the Ladies Club for over 50 years! She had an enormous impact on others but was most comfortable staying out of the limelight. She was a positive influence to everyone she met. Few ever heard her complain. Her family meant everything to her, and she always made time for them. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, Family History Work and attending the Temple.

June is survived by her children: MarDene (Robin), Wendy (Christopher), Robert (DeeDee); stepchildren: Karol, Steve (Nancy), Kevin (Michelle); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred (Shirley) Smith; and one sister Merlee Larsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday June 18, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Friends may visit with the family from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

Many thanks to the good friends who have visited her the past few years: all the caregivers, especially Donnette, Dr. Chris Merkley, and her Home/Visiting teachers Jerry and Kenna Ellis.

In lieu of flowers, Mom would be honored by donations to the LDS Missionary fund.
