Marion M. McDonald
OGDEN a" Marion Madsen McDonald, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2011.
She was born July 20, 1919 in Salina, Utah to Irving Fred and Elizabeth Dyring Madsen. She grew up in Manti, Utah. Marion attended Brigham Young University where she received a Bachelor''s Degree. She then taught school in the Wasatch, Granite, Washington and Weber School Districts. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Education Society. She enjoyed the children that she taught very much.
On October 6, 1961, while living in Salt Lake City, Marion married Robert C. McDonald in Las Vegas, NV. They later moved to South Ogden and had their marriage solemnized in the LDS Temple. They never had children together.
Marion was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ogden 69th Ward for 20 years. She served in many callings in the church. She was also an active member of the Centennial Camp of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She worked as a volunteer at McKay-Dee Hospital for many years. Marion loved watching basketball, going for rides, singing, and playing cards.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and Hospice For Utah, for the care they have provided Marion over the last seven years.
Interment will take place on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr., Salt Lake City.
