Marion Blanche Hodson Noorda
Marion Blanche Hodson Noorda, our sweet wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and friend, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, May 11, 2013. She was born on February 5, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to George Alma Jr. and Hattie Pearl Gibson Hodson. She lived with her maternal grandmother, Hattie Marriott Gibson, during her growing up years in Ogden. She loved her grandmother and later took care of her in her home. She attended Mount Fort Jr. High School and graduated from Ogden High School.
She married her sweetheart and love of her life, Glen Noorda, on September 2, 1949 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were blessed with two devoted sons and one beautiful daughter. They were everything to her. They raised their family in Ogden and she loved taking care of her husband and children, Brent Hodson Noorda, Bryan Glen Noorda and Susan Noorda Hansen. They were longtime members of the Taylor Canyon Ward and more recently members of the Heritage Park Branch.
She enjoyed and loved her 11 grandchildren and her 23 great-grandchildren. She was a loving, caring and nurturing mother, wife and grandmother. She taught us how to serve and treat people with kindness. She took care of all of us and loved us with her whole heart. She loved to sew and bake and throw parties and sleepovers for us. We have amazing memories because she was so good at creating them for us. She made a silky for every grandchild and great-grandchild. They cherish those blankets because they were made with so much love.
Marion is survived by her husband of 63 years; two sons and their wives, Debra Noorda and Marcy Noorda; a son-in-law, John S. Hansen, and his wife, Linda; granddaughters Jeni, Tami, Amy, Kaesy, Tiffany, Natalie, and Nicole; grandsons, Sean, Jeffrey, Michael, and Tyler; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Those awaiting her in heaven include her parents; daughter Susan Noorda Hansen; a great-grandson, Ryan Brent Noorda; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. She will be laid to rest next to her sweet daughter Susan at the Ogden City Cemetery.
