“Together Again” Marjorie Ann Barker OGDEN – Marjorie Ann Dieu Barker passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, November 8, 2010. Marjorie was born November 14, 1921 in Ogden, a daughter of Jules and Anna T. Dieu. She graduated from Ogden High, attended Weber College and graduated from Stevens-Henegar College. She married William Powell Barker in Ogden on June 26, 1941. Their vows were solemnized on June 26, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived on 13th Street in Ogden while raising their children before moving to Pleasant View where they built their dream home. In 2008, they moved to Emeritus Estates in Ogden. Her husband passed away in February of 2008. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various capacities in the Ogden 7th Ward, Pleasant View 4th Ward and the Pleasant View 1st Ward. She and her husband served a mission in the California Arcadia Mission in 1988 and as Stake Missionaries. Marjorie worked for Weber School District for 20 years. She made many quilts and enjoyed making chocolates and cooking. She loved her roses that her husband took care of. Marjorie and Bill enjoyed traveling and cruising with their family and friends. They loved meeting new people. Surviving are her children, Mesa (Jim) Ipson, Pleasant View; Nancy (Lloyd) Olsen, Marilyn (Douglas) Stanger and Bill Barker, all of Kaysville; 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five siblings, and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus Estates and Hospice for Utah, especially Debbie and all of the aides and nurses for their dedication and help with our mother over the past few years.
