Marjorie Ormond Dawes

Marjorie O. Dawes, 85, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013, in Clearfield. She was born May 14, 1928 to John Henry and Ada Myrtle Baugh Ormond.

She was a student body officer and a graduate of South Cache High School in 1946. She married Keith Allen Dawes December 1, 1947. Together they belonged to the Ogden Junior Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed building and painting the first Christmas Village in Ogden, Utah. They were members of the Elks Club. She also belonged to Beta Sigma Phi. She was employed at Commercial Security Bank and was Vice President with Utah Bank and Trust, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, bowling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Together they had three children, Russell A. Dawes (LaRue), Kathryn J. Higgs and Mariam Stickney (Mark). She is survived by her three children, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Robert J Ormond and sister Valerie Sweeten. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, NaRay Ormond, Orlan Ormond and Delmar Ormond, granddaughter, Melissa Dawes and great-grandson Jayde Child.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Logan City Cemetery, Logan, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Parkinson''s Foundation and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
