Marjorie Paine Hawkins

1922 ~ 2018

Marjorie Paine Hawkins returned to her Heavenly Father on February 1, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Marge was born October 8, 1922 in Ogden, Utah.  She moved to Oakland, California when she was nine years old.

Marjorie married Grant Hill Hawkins on August 28, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  They had six children: Jill (Dave) Giles, Cedar City, UT, Bonnie (Chuck) Peppler, Fruit Heights, UT,  Laurie (Jay) Henselen, Cedar City, UT, David (Carol) Hawkins, Fremont, CA, Kent (Connie) Hawkins, Martinez, CA, Randy (Donna) Hawkins, Fishersville, VA.  She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.  Marge was preceded in death by her parents Robert Treat and Jennie Paine, her brother Jackie, her sister Barbara Martin, her husband, Grant and her daughter Laurie Jane.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in many positions.  She taught primary, worked in Cub Scouts, served in Ward and Stake Relief Society, and Young Women.  She served a mission with Grant to the Cambodian and Laotian refugees in Oakland, California.  She loved working in the temple for 29 years.

Marge loved knitting, sewing, reading, sending card to celebrate every birthday and her favorite was reading the scriptures and eating dark See’s chocolate!  Marge was a lady that loved serving the Savior and her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights 8th Ward Chapel, 170 N. Mountain Road. Fruit Heights, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fruit Heights 8th Ward Chapel, 170 N. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights, Utah.

Interment,  Valley View Cemetery, Bothwell, Utah.
