1916 ~ 2016

Marjorie S. McBride of South Ogden passed away an her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

Marjorie was born in 1916 in Glendora, California.  Marjorie’s late husband, Bob worked for the U.S. Forest Service and the family lived a number of places in California before moving to Ogden, UT in 1969.  After Bob retired Marjorie went back to college and graduated from Weber State.

Marjorie was active in a book club, Pinetree, PEO, First Presbyterian Church, and especially local food programs including Share the Harvest.  She was a weaver, enjoyed hiking, and traveled widely.  Marjorie would always take care of anyone in need.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Michael McBride and Melody Asher of Twin Falls, Idaho and Steve and Kris McBride of Sammamish, Washington; her granddaughter, Theresa McBride of Port Orchard, Washington and Angie Tolson, her long long-term caretaker & best friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Utahn’s Against Hunger, P.O. Box 4103, Salt Lake City, UT 84110.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 880 28th Street, Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
