“Together Again”

Marjorie Louise Priest passed away peacefully on April 8, 2015.  After waiting for three years, she is finally united with her husband of 70 years.  For that knowledge, her family is grateful.

She was born on February 6, 1924 in Iola, Kansas to Myrtle Mae Hutton and Byrd William Eppley. She later moved with her mother to Ogden where she attended and graduated from Ogden High School.  She and her sweetheart, Milton Walker Priest, met at Ogden High and he proposed to her in the balcony of the high school auditorium.  They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on his 19 th birthday.

To this union were born five children, daughter, Janet; sons, Jerry (wife, Myrth), David (deceased) (wife, Rese), Kevin, and Scott (wife, Sally).  They have 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Mother’s greatest joy was her family and always enjoyed dinners and celebrations with them.  She and Dad were big supporters of anything Weber State, but particularly basketball and football.  She volunteered for the WSU Alumni Association and also the Davis County Library in Kaysville.  She loved the clubs and organizations she belonged to and also enjoyed traveling, reading, and put together many photograph albums.  Always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she and Milt served three missions; first in the Philippines, second in Indiana and as service missionaries at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milt; son, David; and brother, Jerry.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Village of Layton, 1205 North Fairfield Rd.  Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Fairfield Village.  Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family wishes to sincerely thank Bristol Hospice, especially Leesa, Shasta, and Ellie and thanks to all the staff at Fairfield Village of Layton, especially Sherry, Cara, and Bailey for their compassionate service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weber State Alumni Association, 1235 Village Dr., Dept. 3701, Ogden UT 84408-3701.
