Marjorie Ruth Rogers

Marjorie (Midge) Ruth Rogers passed away on November 4, 2013 at the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden Utah from pneumonia at the age of 84. She was born on April 28, 1929 in Dayton Ohio to Joseph Walton Rogers and Ruth Wenonah Cowan Rogers and lived in Bellbrook Ohio. She attended the Olney Friends School in Barnesville, Ohio and then continued on to Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana.
Marjorie worked for the Civil Service in the Department of the Air Force in Dayton Ohio until 1959. She was then transferred to San Bernadino, California, which she loved, and where she lived until 1965. She was again transferred to Hill AFB, Utah working from 1965 until her retirement in 1974 with 26 years of service.
Marjorie was married to Donald E. Kirby on June 16, 1956 in Ohio but later divorced.
Marjorie resided in Kaysville, Utah from 1965 to 2011 at which time she moved into Pheasant View Assisted Living in Layton, Utah. Marjorie loved her home in Kaysville and taking care of her yard and the beautiful Iris that she grew. She also loved the Opera and music of all sorts. She loved animals and was always very compassionate. She had a whole family of neighbors and friends that will miss her greatly.
Marjorie was a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker).
She is survived by her brother Harold W. Rogers (Shirley) of Bellbrook, Ohio, two nephews, David Rogers and Phillip Rogers and a niece, Cindy Rogers, also all of Bellbrook, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents.
It was Marjorie''s wishes that no funeral services be held. She requested that she be cremated and her ashes scattered off the coast of San Diego, California which she loved.
