Marjorie Williams Rosenlund
If youth is a gift and age is a work of art, then Marjorie was a masterpiece.
Marjorie our 89 year old masterpiece left us on Thursday, July 14, 2011. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Marjorie Williams Rosenlund of Layton, Utah passed away peacefully of causes incident to age. She was born September 9, 1921 in Sunnyside, Utah, the oldest child of George Milton Lambert Williams and Ethel Evelyn Broderick Williams. She had three brothers and two sisters and was raised in Sunnyside and Emery, Utah.
Marjorie was sealed to Allan Ervin Rosenlund on March 31, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Marjorie was welcomed home by her husband, her parents, siblings, Garth, Eddie, LaRue and Myrna and her granddaughter Jessica.
Marjorie loved and served her family all of her life. Her family was her legacy and greatest source of joy. She cherished her eight children, 44 grandchildren and 81 great-grandchildren. She will miss her children and grandchildren as they were her greatest happiness and we will greatly miss her.
For many years Marjorie loved to paint landscape scenes, quilt, travel and cook. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family at their cabin in Farmington Canyon.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which defined her life. She served in many callings including Relief Society President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and Primary Teacher. Along with her church callings, she served for many years at the LDS Church Beehive House in Salt Lake City conducting tours. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by children: Phillip Rosenlund (Leigh) of Cheyenne, WY; Kay Herron (Gary) of Reno, NV; Dianne Wahlstrom of Centerville, UT; Garth Rosenlund (Beth) of Riverton, UT; Scott Rosenlund (Susan) of Spring, TX; Jill Larsen of Clinton, UT; Jeri Lyn Moore (Monte) of Boise, ID; Stuart Rosenlund (DeAnn) of Kaysville, UT; and her brother Jay Williams of Holbrook, AZ.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Welcome Home Assisted Living and Mountain Region Hospice for their care of Marjorie the last few years of life.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
