Marjorie C. Saunders
OGDEN a" Marjorie Caroline Saunders, 72, our beloved sister, aunt and friend passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital from complications of an accident.
Marjorie was born June 28, 1934 in Ogden, the fourth of six children of Roy and Mary Saunders. She attended elementary school in Hooper and high school at Weber High. She received a scholarship to Weber State College where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Due to an injury she had to quit nursing. She eventually went to work at Hill Air Force Base where she reluctantly took an early retirement for medical reasons.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings.
Marjorie was very talented as an artist, writer, gourmet cook, (which many were treated to including many Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners), and a speaker at various functions. Marjorie was a very intelligent person. Marjorie was a friend to all she came in contact with, no exceptions.
She was a member of the Toast Mistress Club, The Thespian Club and Daughter of the Utah Pioneers Camp 43 in Kanesville.
After Marjorie retired she and her sister Betty, brother Lynn and wife Joyce and Aunt Annie traveled to many places of interest, including Canada, Europe, Austria, Hawaii, Alaska and many of the States.
During her parent''s senior years and illnesses, Marjorie was the primary care giver for both her mother and father, spending many hours and sometimes days attending to their needs. Her brothers and sisters will be eternally grateful to their dear sister.
Marjorie was married for a brief time in her younger years.
Surviving are her sisters and brothers, Betty Morton, Lynn (Joyce) Saunders, Richard (Laraine) Saunders, and Virginia (Gene) Briscoe, sister-in-law, Pat Saunders and many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Her mother, father, brother, Lyle Saunders, brother-in-law William F. Morton, and grandnephew, Tyler Richard Saunders, preceded her in death.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the intensive care unit of doctors and nurses who were so kind to her and had her best interest in mind at all times.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the West Haven Ward Chapel, 2700 West 3600 South, with Bishop Dean Saunders officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
Because of Marjorie''s love of children, the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Primary Children''s Medical Center.
