Marjorie Edith Jensen Smart

Our very beloved Marjorie Edith Jensen Smart returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on August 22, 2013, at the age of 93.

Marjorie was born in Garland, Utah on December 30, 1919 to Clements Heber and Edith Polly Furse Jensen. All her life she loved learning and teaching, and after graduating from Ogden High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor''s Degree in teaching from Utah State University. Along the way, she also attended Weber State College, the University of Utah, and Brigham Young University. Marjorie spent most of her 35-year career teaching home economics at South Ogden Junior High School, where she loved using cakes, cookies and baked Alaska to help her touch troubled children''s lives.

She married the love of her life, Robert Smart, in the Salt Lake City Temple, and they had five children together. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, doing genealogy, traveling to see important places in family history (especially in England and Scotland), reading, musicals, and her pets.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Alan C. and Gloria Smart of Brigham City, Jane E. Smart of Layton, Dennis A. and Teresa Smart of Roy, and Gordon R. and Rebecca Smart of Young Ward, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smart; sister, Alberta J. Roberts; daughter, Hazel Ilene; and great-grandson, Winston Alexander Martell Smart.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Hyrum City Cemetery.
