Marjory B. West

NORTH OGDEN a€" Marjory Bennion West was reunited with her eternal companion on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

Marjory was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, August 18, 1931 to Burvidge and Mabel Bennion. Marjory had a happy childhood growing up in Salt Lake City and graduated with an Elementary Education degree from the University of Utah.

She enjoyed teaching grade school and it was at this time that a handsome sailor (Larry) captured her heart. She married Lawrence Dale West on October 16, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity. They had a happy marriage and Larry adored Marjory every day of his life. Their life together took them on many adventures including living in Utah, California, Massachusetts, and Ohio. They served a CES mission in Maryland. They were blessed with two sons and four daughters. Each of the children feel very blessed to have been raised by such a wonderful woman!

She leaves her family with a legacy of love, faith, compassion, and patience. Her great love of the gospel allowed her many opportunities for church service which was one of her greatest joys in life.

Marjory was a gifted teacher and wrote beautiful poetry. She had a spirit that touched the lives of all those she came in contact with. Her frame was small, but her spirit was large.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, David (Marnie) West, Timothy (Teri) west, Lori (Paul) Mower, Valerie (Chris) Michalek, Nancy West, Kathy (Donnie) Patrick; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Patricia Stevenson, and her brother, Donald (Bud) Bennion.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her husband.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond 5th Ward Chapel, 3352 North 1050 East in North Ogden, with Bishop Mark Jenkins officiating.

Family will meet friends at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment/Graveside services will take place at 3:15 p.m. at the American Fork City Cemetery.
