Mark Joseph Fowers
Mark Joseph Fowers passed away on October 17, 2010, in St. George, Utah, surrounded by his family. Mark was born July 31, 1946 to Wilford and Irene Fowers in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Bonneville High School as valedictorian and attended Weber State College and Utah State University. He served an LDS mission to the French East Mission (1965-1968). Mark married his eternal companion, Charyl K. Johnson, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 15, 1969. He thoroughly enjoyed a lifelong career with the FAA as an air traffic controller. He served for years as an LDS temple worker and recently completed an LDS mission with his wife to the Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Mission.
Mark lived and acted faithfully in every role he held. He was a devoted husband and father and an active member of the LDS church throughout his life. He loved to perform quiet acts of service, never seeking credit or recognition. He was happy and contented, enjoying life''s simple pleasures. He was grateful for God''s "great plan of happiness" which gave him and his family comfort.
Mark is survived by wife, Charyl; his children Jedd (Michelle), Elise (Clark) Bown, Seth (AnnaJean), Haley (Craig) Gordon, Timothy (Holly), and Curtis (Katie); 16 grandchildren who know him as "Grandpa Mark"; and his siblings Dwight (Linda), Verlayne (Chad) Campbell, Jay (Geri), Nada (Greg) Winget, and Sam (Jana).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville South Stake Center, 900 S. Main, Kaysville, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday, from 6 to 8 pm at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main, Kaysville, Utah and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Hooper, Utah Cemetery.
