Mark Lindsey Hunter

April 12, 1962 ~ December 31, 2018

Mark Lindsey Hunter, loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and brand new grandfather of 19 days, died at his home after a courageous 8 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was 56 years young and will be deeply missed.

Mark arrived earlier than expected on April 12, 1962 to Max and Ann (Wheelwright) Hunter, so small his father could hold him in the palm of his hand.

As a lifelong resident of Hooper, he developed a strong work ethic on the family farm, learning from and working side-by-side with his father and grandfather, always keeping an immaculate farm.

Mark’s wife and love of his life, Terri (Hall) has been by his side for 28 precious years. He was a loving and devoted father to Kody (Abby) and Kamie. He treasured his children and took great pride in their accomplishments enjoying every soccer game until he was physically unable to do so. He was so thrilled to be able to hold his first grandchild.

He never let his diagnosis stop him from doing the things he loved. Everyone who knew Mark knew of his infectious passion for hunting and fishing. His advice on how, where, and when to catch the big ones was always welcome.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an Eagle Scout. He received the State Farmers FFA Award as a senior in high school. He was also a member of the Powder Mountain Pro Ski Patrol. Following in his father’s career footsteps, Mark worked for and retired from the Weber County Road Department.

He leaves behind his wife Terri; children, Kody (Abby) Hunter of Bountiful, Utah, Kamie Hunter of St. George, Utah; parents, Max and Ann Hunter of Hooper; sisters, Heidi (Steve) Allen of Cove, Utah, and Kelli (Blake) Cevering of Hooper; granddaughter, Quinn; father and mother-in-law, David and Jeannette Hall of Hooper; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings Steven Lee and Clare Ann.

Mark and Terri wanted to make sure profound appreciation was expressed to PA Rick Cloward, Dr. Darin Winn and the staff at Dr. Brian Heaton’s office. Thank you for prolonging his life and giving us more time with him. Also, tremendous gratitude goes to Brea, our loving angel of a nurse and the rest of the Intermountain Hospice doctors and nursing team.
