Mark Oliver Lynden Mannen

October 30, 1985 ~ March 17, 2016

Mark Oliver Lynden Mannen passed away on March 17th, 2016.  He was born on October 30th, 1985, in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of Bryce Lynden and Mary Ann Prine Mannen.

Mark was the most loving and “big hearted” person and lit up a room with his smile and beautiful piercing blue eyes.  He brought joy to everyone he met and was always there for his friends and family.  Most of us are lucky to have a handful of friends, but Mark had literally hundreds and they described him best with some of the following comments:

“Mark had this way of making you feel special. He was always building up those around him. He was so genuine and truly cared about all the people in his life. I always thought Mark was one of the coolest guys I knew but he was so humble. He was a person that made you feel good about yourself and believed in you even when you didn’t.”

“The very first time I met Mark I knew he was a special person and we instantly bonded! I've tried so hard to think of that one moment with him that stands out the most and I can’t, because there were so many. He was my best friend who became my brother.”

“When Mark walked into my life 12 short years ago little did we know it would change our lives forever. He was so kind, always lending a nonjudgmental ear.  He was funny, smart and charming and an amazing writer and artist.  His unique style kept both of our closets proper and to this day I attribute his influence to my keen sense of fashion. I loved him completely and unconditionally. I don't know if I will ever fully fathom the idea of his life here on Earth being over. But what I do know….He was loved by so many, and the world is sure going to miss someone like him. My heart will never be the same.”

Mark would always want you to remember to “follow your bliss”

Mark graduated from Weber State University in 2014 with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. He was currently employed at IHC as a Behavioral Health Specialist and worked at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.  He loved all kinds of board sports including skate boarding, wake boarding, and especially snow boarding. He frequented several Utah ski resorts but especially loved spending time with friends at Snowbasin. Mark also shared a love for music, clothes, body building, eating good sushi, reading, tattoos, and fast automobiles, especially of the German variety.

Mark leaves behind his loving mother, Mary Ann Prine Mannen; along with his father, Bryce Mannen and step-mother, Maryann Herrera Mannen; and brother, Josh Mannen and his fiancée Rebecca Germany all of whom loved him beyond measure.  The extended family includes aunts and uncles, Eddie and Vivian Prine, Steve and Carol Smith, Cam and Andrea Henderson, and Dean and Johna Mannen and his adopted Utah family, Robert, Barbara, Nate and Jennifer Herrmann and Greg Gemelli.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lloyd Prine and Calvin and Marilyn Mannen.
