MARK MURPHY
1984-2017
Our well-beloved grandson, son, and brother, Mark Murphy, left this earthly plane on March 6, 2017. Mark was known and loved for his irrepressible and often irreverent sense of humor, avid love of skateboarding, strong work ethic, and his heart of gold towards everyone whose path he crossed. Mark enjoyed traveling the world with his family and sought out adventure wherever it may be found. He worked as an Emergency Room technician and EMT at Ogden Regional Medical Center, where he was universally admired for his skills and dedication to both the patients and his work.
Mark is survived by his mother and stepfather, Susan and Nelson LeDuc; father and stepmother, Norm and Barbara Murphy; grandmother Ruth Murphy; brothers Matt, Ben, and Dan Murphy; sister Marie Murphy; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is reunited with his close friend and sister, Rachael Murphy, who departed this world in 2003, with whom he shares an eternal bond.
Numerous are those who still draw breath because of Mark's skill in the ER. Time and again, he was the one who had the skill and tenacity to start an IV on a patient when no one else could. Mark's sister, Rachael, was able to live for several years more because of his kidney donation to her. As a registered organ donor, Mark continues to save lives even after his passing.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, Bountiful, with interment at Bountiful City Cemetery to follow. Please join us to share your memories of Mark. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing time or money to a suicide prevention center, or ensuring that your loved ones always know how valuable they are to you.
