Mark Alan Rhead
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Mark Alan Rhead returned home to his Father in Heaven on Monday, June 16, 2008 in Ogden, Utah following a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Mark was born on October 10, 1963 in Ogden to Raymond and Joan Rhead.
He married Susan Bronson in the Salt Lake Temple on August 6, 1993. Together, they have three beautiful children: Scott (13), Emily (11), and Daniel (8). He was a devoted husband and father and treasured his family.
Mark graduated from Bonneville High School and later earned a Master’s Degree from Weber State University. He taught English at South Ogden Junior High, Weber High and Fremont High Schools. He enjoyed coaching various athletic teams during his teaching career.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He earned his Eagle Scout award and served an honorable mission in Rochester, New York.
Mark loved his family and friends, and was devoted to following the Savior. He was an example and inspiration to all who knew him. Throughout his illness, Mark maintained a positive attitude and thankful spirit. He continued lifting others with his smile to the very end. He will be greatly missed.
Mark is survived by his wife and children of Washington Terrace; mother Joan Rhead, in-laws Jack and Doris Bronson, and siblings: Vance (Lori) Rhead, Vern (Lisa) Rhead, Brad Rhead, Karen (Matt) Flitton, and Rebecca (Matt) Tuttle.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Raymond Rhead and his sister-in-law Lori Bronson.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation for the loving care given by Dr. John Friden, Dr. Vincent Hansen and his staff, and the kind and caring nurses who assisted Mark and his family over the course of his illness.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 9th Ward Chapel, 125 East 5350 South.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the ward chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education or Missionary Funds.
