Mark Miles Vigil

Beloved son and brother, Mark "Miles" Vigil, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 from a tragic and devastating accident.

Miles was born August 11, 1982 to Mark Vigil and Debbie Kirk. He grew up in West Layton and West Point, where he attended Layton Elementary, Syracuse Jr. High and Clearfield High Schools. He completely dedicated himself to football, he would eat, drink and sleep the sport. He touched many lives along the way and made the best of friends. After high school he received a scholarship to Southern Utah University where he continued his love for the game. He was injured there so he left football behind and enlisted in the Army. Miles was stationed in Fort Drum New York 10th Mountain Division where he deployed to Afghanistan and served in the Enduring Freedom War. He served his Country with amazing Honor, he gave his absolute best in everything he did. Miles will forever be a hero.

After his Military service Miles returned to Utah and began his new loved hobby, fly fishing. He viewed fly fishing as more than just catching a fish, it was an art and skill. Miles accomplished with perfection the talent that comes with the slight whip of the wrist. Miles began to train in Jui Jitsu at Westside Academy in Ogden. He was skilled and talented in Jui Jitsu recently achieving his purple belt of which he was extremely proud. He loved working with and instructing the youth at the academy. Miles completed the Fireman Academy at DATC, his ultimate goal in life was serving and helping others. Miles was employed at Alliant Tech and worked part time at Brewskis. He made friends wherever he went. Miles was the most humble, loving, beautiful, funny man. Our hearts are broken. We will miss your sweet smile, contagious laugh, and hilarious jokes.

He is survived by his two families that loved him so very much, mother, Debbie (Monte) Kirk, brother, Chance Kirk, sister, Shaylee Kirk, father, Mark ( Melanie) Vigil, sisters, Montana and Mariah Vigil, brothers, Joseph and Matthew Vigil, long time girlfriend, Jena Roby, grandparents, Dennis and Gloria Boyer, Cecil and Blanche Kirk and grandmothers, Mary Vigil and LaRee B.
