Mark James Zito passed away at 7:54 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the Fresno Community Hospital. Complications involving a congenital heart defect, which he was not expected to survive through childhood, resulted in this unexpected loss.

Mark was born April 22, 1954 in Ogden, Utah to Lewis and Bertha Zito. As the fifth of six children, he worked the Riverdale farmland with his family throughout his youth. His family moved to Tremonton when he was 12, and he graduated from Bear River High School in 1972.

As an active member of the LDS church he was called to serve on a mission. He served in Kansas City, Kansas; Pueblo, Colorado; and Roosevelt, Utah.

He was married to Diane Veibell in the Logan LDS Temple June 11th, 1976. He earned an Associate''s degree in Accounting, while raising a family, in 1982; and began his career as a government Civil Servant.

In recent years, he was in Kingsburg, California continuing his admirable career of 24 years, as well as his devotion to the LDS church as a member of the Selma Ward. His exceptional work ethic and generous volunteer work earned the respect of many throughout his life. His family was the love of his life; he will be missed by all, and never forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons: Thomas William (Kristin), Anthony Lewis (Christy), Tyler Mark (Emily); grandchildren: Jaidyn Skye, Daxon James, Dominick Lewis, and Vincent Leo; and siblings: Dale (Linda), Barbara Butler, Gordon, Susan (Dwayne) Wheatley, and Kathleen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 2nd at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may visit the family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12 to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
