Marlene K. Brown returned to her Heavenly Father’s arms, surrounded by her hospice care team and loving daughter, Diane Faiz. Marlene passed away on March 10, 2018 at Hidden Valley Assisted Living in South Ogden, UT at the age of 81.

Marlene is survived by her children, Diane (Max) Faiz, Dalene Price, and Curtis (Lisa) Mann; her beloved grandchildren, Parviz, Keyan, Ty, Val, Jessica, Nancy, and Samantha; several great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Topps; and brother, Bernie Everett . She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brown; parents, Lewis and Cleone Everett; brother, Raymond Everett; and precious baby daughter, Mary.

Marlene was born on September 15, 1936 in Ogden, UT. Her early life centered around the Ogden area. She married Kenneth Brown on December 10, 1966 and traveled throughout the United States in support of her husband who worked on the Air Force Missile Program. Marlene started working at a very young age and held a variety of titles and positions from cashier, store manager to food truck driver. She had a very strong work ethic and enjoyed her work. She always became an entrusted employee who was loyal and dependable.

Marlene had a lucky streak and enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and board games. She was extremely social and loved being surrounded by family and friends.

During a brief retirement period, Marlene found her ultimate happiness caring for her grandsons Parviz and Keyan Faiz. Marlene was overjoyed to share a special bond with her daughter and grandchildren.

Marlene returned to work in 2000 when she joined the Walmart Team. She was known for her spunky personality, straightforward opinion, and extra sass that she brought to any occasion. She lived life to the fullest and was affectionately known as “Ms. Sassy Pants” by her coworkers at the South Ogden Walmart Neighborhood Market. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

The family would like to send a special “Thank You” to the Comfort Worx Hospice Team and Hidden Valley Assisted Living CNAs, as they graciously cared for Marlene in her final days – your care and kindness is endlessly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
