Ila Marlene Wells Curtis

OGDEN – Ila Marlene Wells Curtis, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after suffering a massive stroke. She stayed with us long enough to hug and say goodbye to the many loved ones that care for her deeply.
She was born on July 2, 1934 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Marvin Edgar Wells and Glenda Ann Parsons.
Marlene married Robert Sherman Curtis, Sr. (deceased) on July 15, 1952 in Susanville, CA. Their marriage was later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on July 13, 1960. They had six children, but later divorced.
She worked in the banking industry and retired after 30 years. Later they managed several motels eventually landing them in St. George, Utah.
She enjoyed raising her six children and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved going to the movies, plays, and playing games with her kids and grandkids. Each year she enjoyed vacationing with her family at her Snowbird condo. She was active in tennis, accumulating many trophies and ribbons.
She had three brothers, Jerry (deceased), Dennis, and Reese (Karlene) Wells; and two sisters, Rosann (Dennis) Bingham and Judy Wells (deceased).
Marlene is survived by her children, Kelly (Natalia), Guy (Sandra), Rick (Felicia Walton), Randy (Becky), and Holly Taylor (Scot Madsen); 21grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Bobby, Jr.; brother, Jerry; sister, Judy Wells, and one grandson Anthony Curtis.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Ogden City Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
