Marlene Cook Keller

SYRACUSE – Marlene Cook Keller, 82, our loving mother and grandmother, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 20, 2014. She was born February 27, 1932, the daughter of Raydolph Day Cook and Lula Rachel Warren Cook. She married her sweetheart, Raymond LaMont Keller, on October 9, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away in 2008. She was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and lived on 1000 West the entire time.

Marlene began working as a medical assistant at Tanner Clinic at age 18, moved to insurance specialist and then retired as Assistant Manager after 46 years. She held various church callings in Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary and served many years as an Ogden Temple worker. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed genealogy, cooking and collecting recipes, crafts, the Utah Jazz and her cat, Boozer.

She is survived by her son, David L. (Marilyn) Keller,  Taylor; daughters Diane (Brian) Allred, Syracuse;  Gail (York) Zentner, Mountain Green; ten grandchildren: Anthony (Amanda) Iarossi, Cami Keller, Briana Allred, Austin Keller, Tavia Iarossi, Andrew Allred, Allison Keller, Parker Zentner, McKenna Zentner, Brent Allred; two great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Ray and Lula Cook; daughter Brenda Keller Clark and brother Warren Cook.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Syracuse Third Ward, 1000 W. 2700 So., Syracuse. Friends may visit with family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
