Marlin Hugh Imes passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 28, 2011 after a long illness.
He was born May 21, 1931 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Milton H. and Hazel Jones Imes.
Marlin graduated from Ogden High School. He served honorably in the US Navy for 3 A½ years, transferring to the US Army from 1953 to 1955. Following his military enlistments, he loved serving with the DAV Chapter 4, Honor Guard from 1968 to 2009, performing military funeral services. On October 12, 1955, Marlin married the love of his life, Lena May Snyder, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, where he served lovingly in many church callings, including LDS missions to England and Alaska. Together with Lena, he served as a guide at the Ogden Tabernacle Visitors Center. He also served a mission with Lena at the Salt Lake Family History Center.
Marlin retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1968.
He is survived by his wife, Lena; two sons, Jeffery and Randy (Lori); a sister, Effie Snider; granddaughter, Tina Imes; grandson, Ian Imes; three step-grandchildren, Adam, Crystal and Amber; one great-grandson, Cage M. Woods; and one step-great-grandson, Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Romona Millican and Bernice Luby; a son, Brent; and a daughter-in-law, VerLyn Hainline Imes.
We would especially like to thank Bristol Hospice and the staff at George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
