Marsha Lee Wold, 86, a long-time resident of Roy, Utah, passed away at Ogden Regional Medical Center on Sunday, September 29, 2024, of natural causes.
Born Marsha Lee Boam on May 21, 1938, to David Emerson and Bessie Lee Boam at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Marsha had just outlived her older brother, William David Boam, who passed away on August 15th. They are now both reunited with their parents.
Marsha was raised and schooled in Salt Lake City and later Spokane, Washington, but returned to Utah and graduated from Ogden High School.
Marsha married James Dellis Wold, and they had three children, Christopher, Matthew, and John. They later divorced.
She lived for many years in West Haven and later settled in Roy, where she has lived the last 20 years. She worked as an Administrative Office Professional for Weber County for over 30 years, retiring from the Auditor’s Office.
Marsha enjoyed sewing quilts, gardening, and was famous for her raspberry jam and deserts. She loved hiking, fishing, and watching movies with her grandkids. Marsha had many great friends, and often spoke fondly of Karen, Marion, Louise, Marilyn and Roxi to her sons.
She will be remembered as a very dedicated mother, grandmother, and public servant. She fought breast cancer, multiple myeloma, recovered from a hip replacement, and a bad auto accident – and all the while she was more concerned with other people. She derived the greatest joy in her life from caring for her children and grandchildren, often traveling to assist them.
Marsha is survived by her sons, Christopher (Anh Dong) Wold, Everett, WA; Matthew (Jenny) Wold, South Ogden; and John (Melanie) Wold, Boise, ID; eight grandchildren, including Keira and Lillian; Nathan, Corey, Meghan (Cole) Anderson, and Kyle, Ryan, and Sydney.
In addition to her parents and brother, Marsha was also preceded in death by her former spouse, James.
